 Post subject: Manufactured items

What would be the best way to add products that you produce? Assembly maybe? that way can take you the material you use along with labor to manufacture it.

Assembly is the best way. You can always receive in items that are an assembly if you ever decide to buy instead of make. Enter you company as a vendor and you can assign yourself as the preferred vendor.

Hi Dave,

i have created an inventory as item assembly with few parts each with 1 qty required as standard but rarely i may need 2 on any item. When I assemble the inventory item, I cant change the qty to 2. Can youhelp change the code to do that.

Once the BOM is set and a journal entry has been posted against it, the BOM cannot change. This is a strict accounting guideline. You must create a new SKU for the case where an extra piece is needed to build the assembly.
