change/edit Inventory Type of SKU

I had a "stock item type" of sku that is already posted with many transaction in it. Then I realised it should be as a "assembly item type".
Is there any way to change the sku type? :(

No, the best way is to rename the SKU and create a new one as type assembly with the original SKU number. Then load the BOM and fill in all fields. Once complete, if you have stock in the old Stock Item, adjust to zero and increase the new SKU with the same quantity.h
