Hello I am reciving this error when i try to make a sale through a normal invoice/sale.

Error posting chart of account balances to account id: 4004

The account i have set up is 4004: INCOME type

I wish to separate the money i receive from making a sale, into separate accounts, based on what I actually sell. So for example 4000 is a normal sales account, but 4004 is strictly for computer sales. This means i can keep track of how much I've sold in just computer sales.

However when i try to sale the sale to this account i get the above error.

This account DOES exist and I don't get any error when i post to the default account 4000, only when I try to post to another income type account.

I'm guessing this is a bug?

Can someone please tell if I'm doing something wrong?

(as a side note, I have managed to totally configure this program and am overjoyed with what it is capable of doing, this is literally the only thing holding us back from fully using it - so all help will be like gold to us)

I have several accounts for income and don't see this problem. Try to create a new account and make sure the heading box is not checked. Also, make sure there is no spaces in the new account. Try to post to the new account and if that fails re-post here and I'll dig deeper into this.

That did it...!

It was becuase the accounts had spaces in them. Is there an easy way to allow spaces or is it a headache? Its not a big deal ill just add a hyphen or something... curious though as the 4000 account "Sales Income" does contain a space...

Anyway thats sorted... Kudos Pts 2 Dave for a truly excellent system www.renewal-nw.com thanks you greatly :)
