If vtiger could be integrated somehow, I think the best way to do it is not to use the invoice, po, inventory modules of vtiger and use phreebooks. The main function would be to update new account detail to phreebooks so the customer database is sync.
Post Sales orders, Invoices, and shipping updates as a line item on vtiger as a link to phreebooks.

ex.
Acme Companys Account Page:
1/1/09 Invoice # 7893 Amt 50.33 Item widget link to invoice in phreebooks

Also, I think you can send information to phreebooks via a workflow in vtiger. I don't know how to send info from phreebooks to vtiger.

Or Maybe the Invoice, Purchase Order, and Inventory modules in vtiger can be completely replaced by phreebooks somehow.

What is the status of your project, Dave? Did you use the vtiger? I will cross my fingers that it is completely running and excited to know the updates soon.

I know that some of you may consider it a "bloated" feature, but I've been trying phreebook out (not for real business, just toying with it to see what it's capable of) and i would be very much interested in getting a working spanish version, since it would be a couple of us using it and not all of us speak english.

Is there a translation done already?

Thank you and great job, spanish or not!

The spanish translation for R2.0 is available in the download section of www.phreebooks.com.
It is the same spanish translation running on the Phreebooks demo site.

I will be posting a new translator module for R3.0 that can take the R2.1 translations and earlier and update them to R3.0. This will be posted on the Download Store at www.PhreeSoft.com within the next week.
