Dave,
PDF type is good for reports.
But need much time in progress.
And the Chinese Fonts is not good for support.
The web php or xml or html will be easy to support Chinese Fonts.
I suggest add one more type in report for print / output.

yes, i think use xml can solve the report-PDF cannot show chinese and running pdf too long problem.
Normally, webpage(php,html,xml) can show and running with Chinese in my testing site.
Like accounting report (output HTML), this i can show and print with Chinese in quick.

I know the fonts not too much i can use,
but better then printing with PDF cannot show Chinese.
