Chart of account with A&L Balances

On the page:

modules/setup/setup.php?module=chart_of_accounts

Why not have a column listing current balances?

And one of the actions could be a html report that would bring up the current periods activities to date? And clicking on a listed transaction would bring up the detail?

The pdf reports are great, but html reports that have drill down links would be very useful.
