Hi Dave
and everyone
I must be doing something wrong.
I have everything up and running apache, php, mysql, etc on Centos5 using lamp. I disabiled fire wall and all security.
I have down loaded phreebooks and opened it on desktop.
I changed owner to root & mysql for group.with read&write privilages
I placed the file in my web browser var/ww/html.(Which i renamed to phreedom)
when I l open the browser with http://localhost/phreedom/index.php or any other way I get a not found on this server error.
I can not find any info that helps to install the software or it is vague at best.
could anyone give me a step by step install re: where and how you set it up etc or direct me to a page that has more install help.
Thanks for any help

I think that if you undo the renaming all should be oke.

'http://localhost/phreedom/index.php' should be equal to 'var/ww/html/phreedom' or 'var/ww/phreedom'

butt i am not a expert on apache

The install files need to be copied to you web server. Once there, navigate to the root of the directory and navigate to the PhreeBooks homepage. You will be redirected to the install script. From what you wrote above, I would suggest you navigate to http://localhost. If index.php is in you apache search list, the install screen should appear.

Thank you and Rene K for your quick reply.
I got it to run and got to the preamble. Now I have to find away to install PHP5.3 or greater on Centos5 (A new fun time!)
I really appreciate your support.
Thanks
