Fantastic, please zip it and send it to me when you are ready. There are many changes for 2.2 and I have a tool to convert the translations for the new release. I'm trying to reduce the number of lines to translate. It's a pretty large task with the current version. Your work is greatly appreciated.

Dave

Dear all,

has anybody finished the german translation?

Does any german company use this system?

I've started to evaluate phreedom and would appriciate if anybody could share his experience with the localisation.

Hi there,

I've installed the translator and the german language pack.
The language pack includes only the translation of the translator module and contains some kind of funny phrases of computer aided translation.

I've started a new translation but in view of the translation of all modules and creating a fitting chart of accounts it would be helpfull if there are already translated parts available.

Did anybody started a translation to german language too?

No German users :?:

The only translation I know of is the one pointed to by the link above. It was done, I believe using Google Translate and causes a failure when installed. The translations are probably OK but the file structure is probably where the problem is.

Hi Dave,

yes, I've realized that :(
So I've started new and I hope I can manage Phreedom to handle the German VAT with a modified chart of accounts.

I use Phreedom in the Czech company operating from Czech Republic. I think that german legislation is almost the same and business customs as well.
Making of the chart account is simple but boring. You have to create an XML file, format is described somewhere here. Further I can provide my forms in czech with english comments. I think they are ready to use in Germany, you have to only make the german translation. If all your employees are english speaking, there is no problem to use english UI, but german forms. There is no dependency between web UI language and form language.
If you have further localization questions, feel free to contact me. I have some tricks how to setup European VAT concept and how to work with bank accounts. The bank account concept in Phreedom is kind of different than there is usual in Czech Republic, but surprisingly works much better.
