hi
when i do an assembly and if the individual items are serialized and i add that to assembly it gives me an error
Error calculating COGS for a serialized item, the serial number entered was blank.
Error There were errors during processing, the record was not posted.
Error A database date format was in error, please check all your dates! Received: 01/25/2009
im i doing something wrong

but when the individual items are not serialized then it works ..the problem is that if u build a computer u got motherboard with serial no ; mem with serial no ; harddrive with serial no etc so how do u do assemblies

one more thing when printing an inv for a client and if the client buys 10 mem 20 harddrives all with serial nos imagine u have to do one item at a time this is very time consuming and it makes a 2 line inv into 30 lines what a shlab it would be better to have the items and if serialized it must ask for the serial no one go and only print 1 line per item . this is a SUGGESTION

The serialization inventory type is primarily used for purchased items that need to be isolated and tracked individually through the system. It's not really designed to work with assemblies since it would require multiple levels of tracking. That capability is not there. Motherboards don't really fall into this category. If you buy 10 motherboards with the same part number and use serialization, PhreeBooks expects you to track each one individually. When you go to assemble a computer, PhreeBooks wants to see the 'specific' motherboard if it was received as a serialized item. There is no place to enter the serial number so the post will fail.
I would recommend using stock items as the inventory type, and if you want to track serial numbers, enter then in through the Sales/Invoice screen and they will be posted with the sale. This way you can use any motherboard in stock and the cost will be calculated based on the costing method yet you can still record which serial number sold with the system.

There is a little icon next to the quantity field on the Sales/Invoice form that pops up a entry for a serial number. You can enter the information there and it will be stored with the sales entry.

Warning: Wrong parameter count for str_replace() in /home/content/m/a/x/maxchen/html/accounting/chinesecuisine/modules/inventory/pages/main/pre_process.php on line 466

Above warning showed when I rename the SKU of Inventory Item. It always happens every time I want to rename. I've tried in Stock Item and Item Assembly. Both are showing the same problem.

What version of PHP are you running? Are you entering a new SKU in the popup? I looked at the code and I can't see why this error would occur if you are using version 5 or above.

I'm using PHP 5 and using Phreebooks 1.6 (Latest). I'm having problem to change SKU and now problem also to change Item Short Description. Sometimes I have to log out and log in again to be able to change Short Description. Do I need to re-upload the whole software? I did it twice already. I've done all my Chart Account and Most Inventory Item already. :(

Check your php error log and see if you have any errors in there. Also (with Firefox) open the Error Console and repeat the transactions and see if there are any Javascript errors.
