I am currently having a look at different ERP packages, WebERP, OpenErp etc. to find a suitable one. I spend a few days with WebERP but I find it confusing and "help" is more for developers and not really for users.

I had a look at your demo. IMHO I believe you put in some more data for users to play with, and then maybe restore to original every few days (or restore is automatically daily).

I do electronic assemblies. I one "Partnumber" that represent one "BOM" of many components (Caps, ICs etc.).

Can BOM parts have different currencies? Because we buy our parts worldwide and maybe buy in US$, €, ¥, HK$ etc. Specially € and US$ would be important.

From the BOM, can the system handle minimum order units? i.e. resistors sell in rolls of 3000pcs., or some ICs are soled in 144er lots.

I suggest you put some examples in the demo.

The demo is designed to give a general ook and feel. I do reload the default data once in a while but not on a regular schedule.

PhreeBooks is designed to handle assemblies (I use it daily). The multi-currency is handled as follows:

When items are purchased, the PO and Purchase/Receive can be in any currency loaded in your system. Internally, the value of each item is stored in your default currency along with the conversion rate used at the time to buy the components. This way, when an item is assembled, all values are calculated using the default currency. Sales Orders and Sales can be in any currency but again, the values iternally are stored in the default currency and the exchange rate is store with it. Pulling up an old invoice will bring it up with whatever exchange rate was in effect when the sale was made, there is an option to re-post the invoice at a new rate if the exchange rate is different and you want the transaction posted with the new exchange rate.

The units of measure need to be consistent throughout. If you buy a resistor by the roll of 5000, you will need to order 5000 resistors and use them as necessary. PhreeBooks cannot buy 1 'roll' and build 1 'piece', they are not the same unit.

I hope this answers your question.

Dave
