Currently to view the amount paid and balance due I have to print the invoice. It would be nice if I could see these from within the invoicing screen itself after an invoice is created.

This would be helpful to me as well, as the dashboard shows the total invoice amount not what has been paid/whats owed.

I like the idea of Drill Down. If you click on the invoice bar it would pop up the invoice data, with maybe more Drill Down pop up's... but only a simple view, no edit or print. for that you would go to the buttons at the right of the main window...
